Every active alarm.
A clearer picture.
Sentinel Alarm watches your Neptune Systems Apex for alarm conditions and notifies you through your chosen notification provider. It’s also a hands-on aquarium project built around simple, inexpensive electronics—with plenty of room to discover and learn.

Because one notification may not tell the whole story.
I started Sentinel Alarm because I wanted to see all the active alarms on my Neptune Systems Apex. When several alarms are active at once, an Apex push notification or email may not show them all. I wanted a clearer picture of what needed my attention.
Sentinel Alarm watches the Apex for alarm conditions and notifies you through the notification provider of your choice. The idea is simple: make it easier to see what’s happening and choose how you hear about it.
Small parts.
Room to learn.
Useful aquarium alarms are the starting point, but there’s more to the project. Start with a small, inexpensive display board and the basics of how it works. Discover, experiment and take your learning as far as you want—from your first electronics project to deeper work with code and connections. You supply the hardware and set the pace.
What’s established here
The starting point is a small, inexpensive Wi-Fi display board, the kind of hobby electronics sold through familiar retailers, including Amazon. The beta project watches Neptune Systems Apex alarm conditions and sends notifications through your chosen provider. You supply the hardware; check the published model requirements before buying. A verified parts list is still pending.
The verified shopping list, setup steps, provider configuration and complete alarm behavior still need documentation and testing before a public software release. Familiar parts are a starting point, not a promise that every board will work.
Start simple. Go as far as you want.
Discover
Get to know a small display board and how simple electronics turn information into something useful. The intended starting point is curiosity, not specialist vocabulary.
Explore together
Make electronics a shared discovery with your kids, with adult supervision. Ask questions, try small experiments, and enjoy figuring things out together.
Keep going
Stay with the basics or dig into code, connections and your own ideas. This is the learning direction; project-specific instructions and software are still in development.
Know what you’re signing up for.
Is hardware included?
No. You must supply your own hardware. The monitoring and notification illustration is conceptual; it is not a shipped device or an actual app screenshot. Exact supported board revisions, wiring and power requirements must be documented before setup.
What will the waitlist do?
Register interest in Sentinel Alarm development updates. It is not an order, reservation, guarantee of availability or promise of a release date.
Does this replace my aquarium controller?
No. Treat it as an experimental supplemental alarm project. Keep your existing safeguards, equipment protections and regular checks.
Stay in the loop.
Join the interest list. Bring your own hardware when supported requirements are published.
